Looking acceptable on the road

I’m not one for having a face full of make-up on all day everyday, especially not when I’m away, but us girls are prone to a breakout every now and then so I want to be prepared if my face decides it really doesn’t like the change in climate.

I’ve gotten together (from recommendations and what was easier on my purse) a few items that I have tried in the run up to my trip this year. I tried them because I didn’t want to get there and find out that it wasn’t good for my skin or just didn’t suit me…so here they are.

We’ll start with my hair, it rarely does what I want it to do and I’ve been looking for a good salt spray for a while. I found this Beach Matt Texturizing Spray and I love it! It leaves my hair wavy and doesn’t make it sticky like a mousse does, it’s also ÂŁ2 at Boots at the minute…bargain! My second hair product is the Moroccan Argon Oil (which I can’t find a link for) it makes my hair feel soft and keeps it looking shiny and I found this in the pound shop! (It was ÂŁ1 ;))

On to my make-up. Like I said, I’m going for the essentials here and I’m only taking a small bag so I really have been picky with my selection. I have; 2 lipsticks one from Kate Moss’ Rimmel Collection  its a matt pinky orangey colour (110) great for summer and the Bourjois Colour Boost lip pen in Peach on the Beach. Zoella reviewed it in a video a while ago and I loved the colour so I thought I’d treat myself. I wasn’t even going to take a foundation or anything but a blusher but then I heard about BB creams (I know I’m late to the party!) and thought that it would work as a good middle ground (also in case of an emergency spot). I got the Seventeen Blemish Balm in medium because I’m hoping I’ll catch the sun and its got an SPF of 25 so that’s helpful.

Finally the last thing for my face is the Sleek Blusher in Rose Gold I love the colour and it gives me a nice Sunkist glow (which will go lovely with my tan.)

I bought the Rimmel X Volume Flash waterproof Mascara a while ago thinking ‘it’s supposed to be a good brand, I’ll give it a go’ and I was really disappointed. It makes my eyelashes look like spiders legs and isn’t all that waterproof…not good. I’m gunna have to find another one sharpish so any recommendations let me know!

Finally for general use I’m taking Maybelline Colour Show in Pink Bikini (kinda apt) just to stop my nails looking grubby. Some Nivea face wipes which I’ve been using for a while and they seem to like my skin, and an eco tools blusher brush, it’s from the travel range so is a really good size to take with me, it’s also really soft.

There are couple of other things I’m taking like some Carmex to keep my lips from drying out and some Simple moisturizer in a cute little travel size bottle(from primark.)

It all fits neatly into my smallest make-up bag (with room left over) except for the matt spray and face wipes but they’ll be in my toiletries bag. Although when I’m on the road it’s probably going to be the last thing I’m thinking of it’s nice to have the option to look a bit glammed up for an evening…especially when Vegas is calling!

What are your travel beauty essentials? Do let me know what you think of my selection.

7 day’s to go!

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s
equally educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.

The issue is an issue that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I found this in my hunt for something relating to this.

Although other strategies to advertising could be successful, search engines like yahoo make it
easy for you to definitely promote your business around the globe.
Plus, you don’t have to worry about bringing in traffic that isn’t enthusiastic
about what you’re offering since men and women look up keywords that
are matched to your website, the people who come
through by using a search engine service are sure to be thinking about your service.
